In-House Lecture: "Will I Meet Ramadhan?"

Ramadhan is a Divine gift to Mankind. The Qur’an was revealed in this holy month. The Muslim community exemplified the spirit of an excellent lifestyle as people indulge in lots of community work and exercised increased acts of devotion. Allah (s.w.t) created this window of opportunity for His creation to renew their faith and seek the mystical blessings of the Night of Destiny.

Essentially, Ramadhan is the focal point in a Muslims’ life based on the Prophets’ practice of perpetual preparation for and reflection on Ramadhan.

The lecture will encompass the intrinsic meaning of Ramadhan, its benefits & importance for Mankind, the spiritual significance, fasting as a form of ‘jihad’, contemplation, community service, societal values, relationship management & acts of devotion.

Assoc. Prof. Karim Douglas Crow will introduce how we can better appreciate this gift, celebrate the accomplishment and instill the lessons learnt beyond Ramadhan till Destiny decides that we meet again. The esteemed speaker will categorically discuss these issues and beyond. This is the platform to engage interactively and learn as we endeavour to realize the treasures that behold in Ramadhan.

About the B2M Crew
:

Formed in 1999, it is a core niche group under Saff-Perdaus that continually engages our Malay/Muslim youths undergoing NS.

The members of this group consist of current NS men, and post-NS personnel studying in tertiary institutions or in their early career years. We are supported by senior officers and officers from the army. Our main aim is to educate and prepare our Malay/Muslim youths, in particular those enlisting into NS soon, on this important development stage of their lives.

We believe that imbuing Islamic values through knowledge and experience sharing, as well as building bonds amongst them, will motivate pre-enlistees to look forward to and do their best to serve and protect the nation as young Malay/Muslim Singaporeans.

One of our most publicly known efforts is our guidebook, Boy Meets Tekong (BMT), and its accompanying mini reference booklet. To date, B2M has also given numerous workshops in junior colleges, polytechnics and community mosques.

** Note: The Boy Meets Tekong (BMT) guidebook is also available at Wardahbooks (:

"Islamic love - is based on loving for Allah's sake and that means loving what Allah loves about a person: their Iman, their submission, their taqwa, their Islamic manners, good character and strong deen.

These aspects of a person take precedence over other more material or worldly attributes.

For what is beautiful in a man is his degree of servitude to Allah.."

~ Quoted from the book "From My Sisters' Lips - A unique celebration of Muslim womanhood" by Na'ima B. Robert (:
